Wednesday, September 17th, 2008On Saturday the 13th 250 surfers from around Wales and the U.K came to Swansea bay to set a new GUINESS book of records
The surfer chain an idea thought up by ‘Jay doyle’ of Siro’s bar Swansea, to try and create a yearly event where SURFERS attempt to break the existing record or in this case set the record.The event was organinsed for charity with the RNLI, Maritime Volunteer Services, Wales Air Ambulance and Childline to benefit.

2009 NORTH kiteboards
Thursday, September 11th, 2008This seasons 2009 North Kiteboard lineup looks like North have finally raised the bar with their boards.
All boards in the 2009 range Feature new construction methods including 3D Carbon light wood cores or epoxy and wood core sandwich like the new ‘Kontact’ down the line Kite ‘Surf’ board.
The Performance ‘Pro’ line Board range including :Cesar Pro, Mallory Pro, Jaime Pro, Sky pro are back with great graphics and The Young blood and X ride still pushing the limits for great allround performance orientated boards
All of the freestyle/ freeride boards have also had a new footpad designed which is ultra comfortable- Come and try one with us at Gowerkiteriders Kiteboarding
The Rocketfish has been made more user friendly and the sky hooks and pads improved.North also have a speed specific board on its way to replace the Phantom so stay tuned.

An idea to get all things surfy out on the water and raising some money for charity.
The idea, to get as many people out on the water as possible and form a Chain of surfers to set a new world record !
Reigistration starts at 2.00pm at the Spit bridge and with light winds forecasted and T.V crews coming down to film the event why not come down on yr SUP or surfboard and share the fun !
There is also an after Event party at Milkwood jam with bands such as ‘Sion’ and the ‘Mudskippers’ playing!

When is the sun going to shine
Tuesday, September 2nd, 2008Ok , im not going to complain this summer has see some brilliiant kiting conditions here on the welsh coast. However these have all been predominantly in the pooring rain ! Although kiteboarding lessons still run when its raining it would be nice to think September had a little sunshine to make up for the lack of sun over the summer months.
Bring on the winter swells and wind but a Sunny september would not go a miss!

Tuesday, September 2nd, 2008With a Good season (not summer!) of wind most of the Students of GKR are up and cruising around.
With beaches for different wind directions and Flat water riding conditions chosen for boardstarting days most of our customers are happy enough to buy equipment after their course.
We offer 1-2-1 coaching to help build customers confidence before they venture out alone, but with the Kiting commumity growing, a windy day in south wales is the perfect place to progress your kiteboarding skills.
